It's a syncing glitch, where the number of actual posts is no longer inline with the post count. It can happen a number of ways, though the most common I find is when a post gets deleted.
There is a tool I can run on my end that straightens this error out, which I'll run now. Here's a workaround you can try next time you get one.
Go to UserCP>Edit Options>Thread Display Options. From there, increase the Number of Posts to Show Per Page to the max. This will condense the thread into fewer pages, and will usually move those on the inaccessible last page to one you can access
now able to view the Discussion Boards using E11 - was unable to for about a week - Canny PM'd me at one point asking which version of Explorer I was using - don't knw if that had anything to do with now being able to.......
problem with simply telling people to use another browser is new or potential future new viewership - many people are running Explorer - they will attempt to get on the site - be unable to & simply figure the site has gone belly up & never return - site NEEDS to be Explorer compatible

There was an issue with IE that started last weekend, and was fixed Monday morning. A updated plugin from Google was causing a conflict with IE that has since been repaired.
If a site goes completely down, the mods have ways to send us a 911 message to come and fix things. There are also alerts in place that will send us notifications if the site goes down. We didn't get alerted right away about the IE issue as the site wasn't down, just inaccessible from one browser.
Once again I couldn't view the most recent post, This might take a while to get used to, but it puts the most recent post at the top of page 1 instead - now I can read it.
