I'd love to go up there around Nov. 1 and try for trout/salmon/pike. Hows the fishing then ? Must be nice catching big lake trout on the surface instead of with downriggers or planners.

I fish a lake a little north of LG in the late fall. We still catch some bass. GREAT pike fishing.

But I guess Lake trout, Salmon and pike are open. theres nothing like fishing for pike when their hungry and agressive. Its a thrill to cast a spinner in shallow water and have a big pike grab it. Nice !

Check the regs, I am not up to date. Years ago we used to get some great salmon near ends of the brooks going into the lake. Bass come into shallow water instead of the 40 ft plus depths of summer, and lake trout also come into shallow water. Again, check the regs I think there are some closed seasons, especially in the brooks.
