My Girlfriend's nephew is really becoming obsessed with fishing. Asked me to take him fishing for his birthday (. Went out Tuesday. Normally, I never fish freshwater for bass this late in the season, but it was his wish. All on Shiners on my now favorite drop shot set-up. We each got one and lost a several others. They are inexperienced. I spent most of the day re-rigging rods, tying lines, unsnagging, etc. He, of course, got the biggest. He's holding that with Deb. The other one he's holding was mine. I love Deb's gently cradling the little bass she got. Cold day, wind in our face, but wants to know when we can go again.

It's a Boy Scout camp in Rockland County. Not really open to the public. I'm an old Eagle Scout who used to camp there so Ranger let's me visit so long as I'm quiet, clean, and take no fish. In truth, I don't fish there much anymore. Fish are usually plentiful, but very small. Lake also get's very weedy, very early. Typically, it's a place I'd fish a few times in the Spring to shake winter doldrums, than leave it alone 'til next season. Bigger fish was a surprise.
