Okay suppose you get a doe on LI in Oct. and you want to turn it in (the head) in order to be awarded another tag.

where do you bring the head? isnt rocky point check station only open in November? do i have to keep a frozen head for a month?

Probably take it down to Stony Brook headquarters....call them and check. Saw some kind of sign on front doors there this week to that effect.

in oct the check station is open on tues. thurs. and sunday from 2 to 6pm to check deer in and to issue bonus permits

I could never figure out why they don't change the hours to 10am-2pm so that you wouldn't have to give up an evening hunt to check in your doe. I bet if they did, more does would be taken.
