Captain Steven just returned from an absolutly mindblowing fishing trip!!! The two day offshore fluke and cod trip was the BEST FLUKE FISHING OF MY LIFE, reports Captain Steven. They saw fluke like they have never seen before with only about 5 throwbacks for the entire trip and more keepers then you could imagine. Everyone on the boat LIMITED OUT WITH FLUKE SIZE AVERAGING BETWEEN 4 AND 12 POUNDS. The first half of day one was spent cod fishing which was also RED HOT with cod up to 23 lbs and pollack up to 22 pounds. Joe Karolewski who was fishing on his 12th birthday landed himself a 23 pound cod which won him the cod pool. His Dad caught himself a 10 pounder to make it even better. Dave Mercado had a 25 pound pollack and also caught his fluke limit with fluke up to 11 pounds. Half way through the day Captain Steven decided to start fluke fishing and by the end of the day people were throwing back 4 pounders knowing that on the next drop they would land an 8 pounder. The biggest fluke weighed in at 12.3 pounds. Also landed were 2 fluke over 11.5 pounds, 10 fish over 10lbs, 20 fish over 8lbs and 50 fish over 6 pounds. Captain Steven jr took a break from his duties and dropped a line and within minutes landed himself a 12.3 pounder. First place in the fluke pool was won by Ed Amaru with a 11.5 pounder. Ron Armet had his fluke limit catching two of them over the 10 pound mark and also a 21pound cod. Glen Cohen had his limit of fluke up to 6 pounds and cod up to 12lbs. John Szymanski and friend had 12 fluke between 7 and 10 pounds, cod to 12 pounds and a 22 pound pollack. Steven also wants to mention that the guys that stayed up all night caught all the squid they wanted. Due to the success of this trip Captain Steven has added a GRAND FINALE LAST CHANCE HALIBUT FLUKE SPECIAL TRIP. This trip will depart on September 10th at 7pm and return on September 12th at 11.30pm. This is the last chance to catch Fluke before NY state closes fluke season. This trip is strictly LIMITED to 40 passengers. A minimum of 40 pound test line is essential as Captain Steven said many large fish were lost this past trip when 30 pound test line broke off. Reservations strongly recommended to secure your spot. Now is the time to catch the fluke of your dreams.
