Default 7/24/16 report

A slow start with a big finish on Sunday morning, as the tide picked up it was all rods bent! Two dozen keeper fluke and a mess of sea bass and porgies. Ivan Rivera and Kevin Smith tied the pool with twin 5.25 lb flatties. In the afternoon 15 more keepers with 5 lb fluke best for Dennis Supraner. Continued good action Monday morning with Horatio Johnson from Brooklyn besting a beauty 7.5 lb fluke. Rich and Pat had the 6 lb runner up. Plenty of sea bass in the mix. Tuesdays trips averaged a keeper per person with Montauk local Donna taking the pool with a 4.5 fluke and Mike Holley from East Islip the afternoon with a 5.5 lber. Wednesday morning was a little slow with the fluke but a lot of nice sea bass filled the void. A 5 lb fluke took pool honors for Sheila Ferrari. Consistent fishing on Thursday with a jumbo 8.5 lb fluke taking the pool for Phil McCovern from Huntington. 6 year old Raven Lyte from Hong Kong landed his first fluke of 4.5 lbs. John Dina's 5.4 fluke was best on Friday morning with slow fishing in the hard wind. Better conditions and better action on Sat morning with fluke sea bass and porgies. The pool fluke was a 4.5 lber for Sally Wiegand from Alendale, NJ. In the afternoon the action continued with Montauk's Joe Debarro best with a 5.4 flattie. Steady fishing on Sunday morning with fish on every drift! Jeff Mekeel from Croton on Hudson took the 7 lb pool fluke followed close behind by Michael Gargano from West Islip with a 6.5 lber. Nice sea bass were in the mix and all went home with fresh fillets!

Default 7/31/16 report

Great fishing on Monday morning with fish on every drift! Two dozen keeper fluke with Steven Spears from Port Jeff taking the 5.5 lb pool fish. Matt Stanton had 3 over 4 lbs. No PM trip. The good action continued on Tuesday morning with lots of nice sea bass thrown in. Susan Lewis from Manhattan was the pool winner with a 5.75 lb flattie. Big sea bass and fluke on every drift in the afternoon. A 4.8 lb fluke was tops for Nick Stallone from Sayville. Wed morning saw 16 keeper fluke hit the deck with a couple dozen sea bass. Great action on the afternoon trip with 24 keeper fluke and 3 dozen sea bass. A nice 6.8 lb fluke took the pool for Tony Prett of Montauk. 20 fluke and another mess of sea bass on Thursday morning. Zippy's 5.8 fluke was tops. In the afternoon it was Jimmy Reed from Massapequa best with his 6.2 fluke. 21 keeper fluke and 35 nice sea bass rounded things out. Super fishing on Saturday morning with 30 keeper fluke and a basket of sea bass. Zippy Vanick was back and scored 6 keepers herself! (ORL)Dr Elliot Feinman from Riverdale took the pool with a 5 lb fluke. In the afternoon it took a little for the tide to run then the fluke and sea bass came alive. John Bocchino's 6.25 fluke took pool honors, but was bested by a 7 lber caught by Kevin who was not in the pool! Kyle from NYC was second with a 4.75. Good fishing Sunday morning with everyone going home with at least 4 fish. Joe and Kim Debarro teamed up for 6 keeper fluke 3 sea bass and some porgies with Joe's 5 lb fluke the pool winner!

Tough conditions Monday and Tuesday with east winds, but the fluke and sea bass cooperated on Monday morning. Lots of sea bass action and a handfull of fluke. Ron Gelardi from Holbrook took the pool with a 4.5 fluke. Tuesday morning a dozen fluke and a sea bass limit for everyone! Ceasar took pool honors with a 6 lb flattie and young Trevor has a beauty 5 lb sea bass!

Slow fluking on Wednesday with the wind still making for bad conditions but the sea bass helped to send people home with fillets. Ron Pimental was the morning pool winner with a 4.2 fluke and it was Taylor Strom in the afternoon. Better conditions and better fishing on Thursday with 20 keeper fluke and a couple dozen sea bass. Joan Mucera from Whitestone took the morning pool with a 6.5 flattie . A load of sea bass in the afternoon with 16 fluke. Kenan Hiz from Port Jeff was best with a 5 lber. Super fishing on Friday with lots of action. Lou Romano from Wantaugh took pool honors in the morning with one our our best fluke, a 10.3 lb doormat! Tom Morrison was second with a 6.8 lber. In the afternoon 30 nice keeper fluke with lots of fish over 4 lbs and a mess of sea bass. John Bocchino had 4 keepers including the 6.5 lb pool winner. Jim and Heather Foley from Patchouge teamed up for 3 keepers including a 5.75 fluke. A 5.6 lb fluke was best on Sat morning for Mike Nigro from Hicksville, 20 keeper fluke and a bunch of sea bass kept everyone busy. Sunday morning brought good fishing again. The Stanton family had their limit of sea bass and 5 keeper fluke, Joe Jasinski also had 4 keeper fluke and sea bass. Roly Chan had the 4.5 pool fluke.

Great action Sunday afternoon with lots of bending rods. Ron Alma of Montauk took the pool with a 6.5 fluke and had a 5.75 to back it up! Everyone had fresh fillets for diner. Monday morning found the good fishing again with 18 keeper fluke and nice sea bass. Eileen Santoro from Wantaugh was best with a 4.7 flattie.

It was a tough week with lots of wind and rough conditions. On Tuesday there was constant action with short fluke and keeper sea bass but keeper fluke were hard to find. A 4 lb fluke won the morning pool for Janet Reich from Patchougue. In the afternoon Richard Lewis from Manhattan landed the 6.5 lb pool fluke. Bumpy on Wednesday morning but the small fluke kept biting. Bob Stephania from Dix Hills was best. Thunderstorms kept us tied up in the afternoon. Better fishing on Thursday with good keeper fluke again and nice sea bass. Matt Stanton had the 5 lb pool winner. In the afternoon a dozen keeper flatties and some sea bass. Joanne Dre from Malvern NY was best with a 4.5 fluke. Friday saw fluke, sea bass and some big bluefish. Tony Delgiorno had the pool fish in the morning and Nicky Bocchino's 4.5 lb fluke was tops in the afternoon out of 18 keepers. Saturday afternoon the Stanton family led the way with 6 keeper fluke and some sea bass. Joe Jablonski won the pool with a 5.2 lb fluke followed closely by John Bocchino's 5 lber.

Sunday afternoon was excellent fishing with close to 30 keeper fluke and a surprise catch of a bunch of big eye mackerel!
Nedgar from Manhattan had 3 keepers including a 5 lber and the 6 lb pool fluke. Paul Bocchino had 4 keepers and a 4 lb sea bass. Ron A had 3 keepers. Lots of action on Monday morning with sea bass and fluke, Taryn Washenik took the pool with a 4.3 fluke. In the afternoon good action with bigger fluke. Twenty keepers hit the deck with Linda Bird nailing the 5.5 pool fluke. Tuesday morning saw a slow start but a big finish as the tide eased. Lots of fluke with Joe Greico's 5.5 lb flattie edging out Terry's 5.3. In the afternoon the crew from the famous Stephan Talkhouse in Ammagansett had a fun trip with plenty of fillets. On Wednesday morning 12 year old Olivia Auffarth from Mammaroneck showed the adults how to do it with her 6.5 lb pool fluke. Thursday morning saw rods bending the whole trip with lots of sea bass and fluke. It was the youngsters again as Ashley Goll from Seaford bested the 6.5 lb pool fluke and had a backup 6.25 just for good measure! In the afternoon 14 year old Jack Abrams from Massapequa kept up the run winning pool honors with his 6.3 fluke! Friday saw consistent action again with a 6.8 lb pool fish in the morning. In the afternoon 14 year old Jules from Mastic and young Jake split the poll with twin 5 lbers. Fish on every drift on Saturday morning with an average of 2 keepers per person! Nick and Barry Rant from Glen Cove teamed up for 6 keepers with Nick's 6 lb fluke tops for the trip. A little slower in the afternoon with Sally W best with a 6 lb flattie.

It was a great week of fishing with loads of quality fluke! Tuesday morning started things off with action on every drift and everyone going home with fresh fillets! A 5,5 lb fluke took the pool for Kevin Stavris from Deer Park. Richy and Pat teamed up for 4 keeper fluke, some nice sea bass and porgy and a striped bass! In the afternoon Rich Dilorenzo from Glen Cove bested a 7.5 fluke for top honors with Arnie Epstein following with a 5.5 lber. Had to wait out the tide on Wednesday morning then it was lock and load with almost 40 keeper fluke with lots of fish over 3 lbs. John Maher from San Diego was best with a 6.5 lb flattie with a 6 lber for Vickie Quinn second place. In the afternoon another 35 nice keeper fluke and some sea bass. 84 year old Frank DiBennedetto was tops with a 6.75 fluke and 14 year old Matt Muro second with his 5.5 lber. Another great trip on Thursday morning with 38 keeper fluke topped off by a beauty 8.25 lb flattie for Thomas Krayenski. Bill Schoenlein was second with a 5.2. Another great pool fluke on Friday morning with a 7.5 lber for Kristen Fienan. Quality fluke and nice sea bass rounded out the trip. 26 keeper fluke hit the deck on Saturday morning mixed with lots of sea bass and some big porgies! Josh Pearlsteins 7.5 fluke just beat out a 7.2 fluke caught by Steve Rush! In the afternoon sea bass, porgies and at least a keeper fluke a man. Jimmy Farley's 5 lber was best. Another nice 7 lb pool fluke for 9 year old Matt Durnin finished off the week with more good fishing on Sunday morning. The weather and fishing are about as good as it gets, so come join us soon!

Good fishing on the afternoon trip with keeper fluke and sea bass on every drift. Paul Bocchinno was our pool winner with a 7 lb fluke and local Montauker Ronnie was second with a 6.2 lb flattie. A rare catch was the highlight of the afternoon, a huge oceanic puffer that weighed 12 lbs before it was released!
