Default Seal Worms - Besides cod, what fish have you seen them in.

The inshore cod here are full of them, but today, for the second time in my life, and the first time here in Maine, I found one in a striper that I was filleting. The first time was 6 years ago in a striper from New Hampshire.

I've seen them in some haddock and pollock.

I've found a couple in sea bass caught around Block Island.

I just came back from the Eastern LI North Shore and you can also add FLUKE to the list!!! Yup one of my flatties had a worm in it.

I'm thinking that as the seal population explodes we're all going to have to assume that ALL fish we catch, especially the predatory ones, are liable to have seal worms in them!!

Stripers going back several years ago. I've tried to let all my stripers go the past few years (unless it's DOA like in warm water) so I haven't seen it recently but every now and then I get a fish that has a stomach/abdomen that seems sick/undernourished which may be a worm victim.

Don't loose sight of the fact that there are numerous parasitic worms that infect fish, not all the worms you find in fish are going to be "seal worms."
