Default Bassing the Western - 2017 Edition

Finally gents, 11 days out from opening day - water temp is currently 42.3 at the Kings Point buoy. (Comparatively speaking we were in the range of 43.5 to 45.4 this time last year) Having said that, with a couple of 70 degree days already in store for mid-next week, we should start seeing schoolie life shortly in the back bays along with an uptick in the flounder action on the flats.

Simply cannot wait - tight lines fellas.

I could have sworn I saw an Osprey on the cell phone tower near Mamaroneck Rd exit off the Hutch yesterday afternoon. It was much larger than a Red-Tail.

Gave it a shot by me today ...... looked at it as more of a check out ride for the dory. Had one swirl up in the back and one follow in the main channel. Sluggo's.
Joe B ...... we have an osprey setting up at the mouth of the Nissequogue.
Buddy swears he saw it carrying a small bass back to the nest.

Fished to west yesterday evening. Saw a few schoolies and 1 or 2 decent fish (26"ish) fall. I didn't land any. Had 1 hit that was missed.
