Kings Point buoy reading 44.1 as of 11am today - should get a nice uptick the next couple days!

Boat went in Saturday.
Windier than expected. Sunday was also pretty breezy.
Water about 50.
tossed plugs and softbaits for quite a bit of action. Mostly rats, but some put a nice bend in the spinning rod.
Nice start to the season.

Anyone see an uptick in Western sound quality yet? Thinking of doing my first overnight Fri-Sat. Would almost consider running to Raritan but that's gonna take me maybe 3+ hours and I've never done it before.

Wow...that would be a long run from the sound...it was a long run for me when I was in the Hudson river by the GW bridge. Anyway, it might be better to head up the Hudson at this time of the year, if you are willing to make a run.

Tried the Housie last Saturday. Schoolies all. Tried the Hudson Sunday and all I caught were a couple of catfish. How should i rig my bait to get them away from the catfish?

Raritan trip got nixed on account of fuel costs - going to stick it out somewhere in the Western, Western Sound tomor night into all day Sat, as long as it takes to get a fish. Hopefully, they're on the move and I'll have good news to report.

Also bringing along some tagging kits for Bass.
